Lucky chance meeting in Nunukan

We arrived at about 2:00 am an weren’t able to check in to the Hotel Fortuna as intended, so we just found the first hotel that was open. This meant we had to leave the bike out the front. As luck would have it, a couple of passing club members saw our biker club stickers and came to meet us. It turned out to be Mr Adhi and Mr Nurdin of the Yamaha Vixion club.

After that we received VIP treatment from both the Vixion club, and the local chapter of the Byonic club. After being their guests for Gado Gado (possibly the best vegetarian food ever, we had a street-side bikers gathering following by a rolling bike procession of the city.

Mr Adhi is a gold-mine of knowledge about roads ferry routes and border controls, and I think it’s pretty likely I may end up riding Sulawesi with him one of these days.

You would not think we were a long way from home!
